Rachel Kyoung Ra Pyo
Rachel Pyo (she/her) is a student at Seoul Foreign School. Growing up in Singapore, a cosmopolitan city known for its integration of nature and urban life, Rachel’s experiences shaped her profound love for the environment. Immersed in a biophilic cityscape and participating in beach cleanups and school-led environmental initiatives, she developed a commitment to protect the planet. Rachel’s art centers on connection—both to the planet and to other humans. Rachel’s works reflect her journey of exploring eco-conscious practices, from upcycling to organic textures. Each piece embodies her belief in the interdependence of self and other—other people, or other creatures. In her work, Rachel not only seeks to raise awareness of environmental challenges but also encourages viewers to reflect on their relationship with the world around them. Her art invites introspection and inspires collective action, underscoring her conviction that individual choices can foster global change. By bridging sustainability and art, Rachel hopes to contribute to a future where human connection to the earth is celebrated and protected.
